Jean-Francois Quievy

Jean-François Quievy is a French attorney registered with the Paris bar. He holds a doctorate in private law.
He has published a thesis and numerous academic books and articles. He has been teaching corporate law at university level for many years.
Alongside his academic activities, Mr Quievy has more than a decade of experience as an attorney in the fields of corporate law and M&A, providing both legal advice and litigation services.

As an advisor, he assists clients in the structuring and the implementation of transactions and of capital issuances. He gained much of his experience during the years he spent practising within the M&A department of a renowned Parisian law firm.In his litigation work, Mr Quievy represents clients within domestic and international commercial proceedings, before French and European courts as well before arbitration courts.
His litigation practice feeds his advisory work, ensuring that the contractual mechanisms provided are relevant, actionable and aligned with the very latest case law.
Thanks to his practical experience of corporate law operations, he brings to litigation cases an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms in question.
In addition, Mr Quievy is one of France’s leading banking and finance law academic authors, with a specific focus on bank guarantees. French and international banks and financial institutions regularly call on him as an advisor.

Besides these specialisms, he practises across the spectrum of business law, including liability mechanisms, contract law and bankruptcies.
In addition, he regularly works with early-stage start-ups, assisting with drafting the articles of association, the shareholders’ agreement and initial funding rounds.
