Following last week’s victory in the Tkach case (Case T-584/24), the EQA law firm team is proud to announce a new judicial victory, obtained on 30 September 2026 before the General Court of the European Union, on behalf of Vladimir Avetisyan (Case T-323/25).

Subject to European restrictive measures since 24 June 2024, Mr. Avetisyan was supported by Alexandre Genko and Étienne Épron in designing and implementing a European litigation strategy. This approach resulted in the annulment of the decisions and regulations of the Council of the European Union that had kept the applicant under sanctions.

The Court found that the Council of the European Union had made errors of assessment, having relied on outdated grounds and refused to take into account Mr. Avetisyan’s effective resignation from his executive positions as well as the transfer of all of his shares.

As the restrictive measures against Mr. Avetisyan were subsequently renewed on 14 March 2026, the EQA firm is pursuing all necessary litigation steps to obtain the annulment of the remaining acts, in close cooperation with Sergey Glandin of BGP Litigation.
